Product Overview
SLEME201 is a water-resistant, breathable, anti-slip elastic membrane built from a modified rubber-resin blend top layer composited with a high-strength polyester non-woven backing. The top surface is formed with a millimetre-scale three-dimensional anti-slip texture for barefoot safety when wet, while the non-woven skeleton provides dimensional stability, tear strength and substrate conformity. The material is water-resistant throughout, permeable and breathable, impact-cushioning, mould-inhibiting and weather resistant.
This technical data sheet is compiled for European and North American water park and public pool safety regimes, referencing EN 13845, DIN 51130, EN 16165, ASTM, EU REACH, RoHS 2.0, ISO 14801 and the ISO 11014 safety data sheet framework. It is designed for long-term immersion, high-frequency barefoot traffic and children's splash areas.
1. Product Identification
| Product name | SLEME201 General-purpose 1.5 mm Water-resistant, Breathable, Anti-slip Elastic Membrane |
| Product type | Composite elastic non-slip membrane: modified rubber-resin blend with non-woven fabric reinforcement |
| Structural principle | The top layer uses a water- and weather-resistant modified rubber-resin blend formed into a millimetre-scale three-dimensional anti-slip texture for wet barefoot safety. The base is laminated with a high-toughness non-woven skeleton that improves dimensional stability, tear strength and substrate conformity. The material is water-resistant throughout, permeable and breathable, impact-cushioning, mould-inhibiting and weather resistant — solving the common failures of conventional tile slip, stone water pooling, plastic lifting and mould, and paint peeling and scuffing. |
| Suitable substrates | Concrete, metal, FRP, painted coatings and other sound, stable structural surfaces |
| Typical applications | Large water parks, public standard pool decks, children's splash pools, family interactive water play areas, hot spring water-contact walkways, water-contact landscape platforms, outdoor water-contact leisure paving, immersive water play venues — public water-contact areas subject to long-term immersion, alternating wet and dry conditions and high-frequency foot traffic |
2. Key Features
2.1 Leading wet slip resistance, meeting European and North American pool safety grades — A dedicated micro-textured anti-slip surface delivers stable dry and wet friction coefficients, certified to DIN 51130 R10 and EN 16165 water-contact slip resistance. No slipping under standing water, suitable for barefoot use by adults and children, eliminating water-contact slip and abrasion hazards.
2.2 Water-resistant throughout, breathable and blister-free — The rubber-resin blend is hydrophobic and non-absorbent, and the overall structure is permeable and breathable, rapidly venting moisture from the structural substrate. This prevents water vapour from driving blistering, hollowing and delamination of the elastic membrane, suitable for long-term alternating wet and dry conditions.
2.3 Elastic cushioning against falls and skin injury — The material's inherent flexible resilience absorbs the impact of a fall far better than hard tile, stone or paint, reducing the risk of impact and abrasion injuries and fully meeting the safety requirements of children's splash areas.
2.4 Non-woven composite reinforcement — The high-strength polyester non-woven skeleton in the base substantially improves tear, tensile and deformation resistance, and provides a free venting channel for substrate moisture so the membrane does not blister or detach. It also increases bond strength between membrane and substrate.
2.5 Long-term mould, bacteria and algae inhibition — The dense modified resin structure does not retain water stains or dirt. In high-humidity conditions it effectively inhibits mould and algae growth, preventing pool floors from blackening, becoming slippery or developing odours — easy to clean with no frequent maintenance.
2.6 Weather and ageing resistance, all-weather service — The modified rubber-resin blend resists UV ageing, thermal shock and pool chlorine corrosion. It withstands outdoor sun exposure, low-temperature frost and pool disinfectant immersion without chalking, discolouration or embrittlement over long-term use.
2.7 Environmentally safe and water-contact compliant — Free of heavy metals and harmful substances, compliant with EU REACH and RoHS 2.0, non-toxic, odourless and skin-friendly. Fully satisfies the environmental admission requirements for public children's water-contact facilities.
2.8 Large-roll installation, monolithic performance — Continuous large-roll finished product, 2 m wide, minimising seams and reducing leakage risk. Suited to continuous paving of large water park and pool deck areas, and quick to install in both new-build and renovation projects.
3. Technical Data (EN / DIN / ASTM)
All values are tested on the finished composite membrane as a whole, in line with third-party testing standards for European and North American public water-contact facilities. Slip resistance, water resistance, anti-microbial and weathering indices fully meet overseas pool admission requirements.

4. Application Instructions
4.1 Process sequence — Substrate grinding, repair and pre-treatment → apply OICE-901 primer → trowel-apply OICE-904 adhesive → lay SLEME-201 general-purpose elastic membrane → weld seams → sealant treatment at details → cure and hand over.
4.2 Substrate requirements — Substrate strength ≥ 25 MPa, moisture ≤ 9 %, surface sound, flat and dry, free of loose sand, oil and loose debris. Grind sharp protrusions flat. Steel structure substrates require a pre-applied anti-rust primer. Repair and level cracks and holes beforehand.
4.3 Application conditions — Ambient temperature 5–38 °C. Do not install in rain or where the substrate holds standing water.
4.4 Grind the substrate and vacuum to remove defects, bringing it to the required installation condition.
4.5 Apply one coat of dedicated primer to the cleaned, ground substrate. Apply evenly and consistently for a fully sealed film.
4.6 Once the primer has dried and cured for 4–6 hours, trowel-apply OICE-904 adhesive over the full area. Apply evenly with no pooling and no misses.
4.7 After the adhesive has been allowed to flash off for 10–20 minutes, lay the membrane in the pre-planned direction. Roll thoroughly with a stainless steel pressure roller to expel air and compact, ensuring the fibre layer is fully wetted and bonded by the adhesive. Membrane sections are butt-jointed and seams are sealed by welding.
4.8 Detail reinforcement — Provide transition treatment at internal and external corners, equipment plinths and expansion joints. Dedicated sealant may be used for joint filling and sealing.
4.9 Curing — After laying, allow 48 hours before foot traffic. Full bond strength and water resistance are reached after 7 days. Avoid heavy impact and prolonged standing water during curing.
5. Packaging and Storage
5.1 Packaging — Rolls are wrapped in moisture-proof PE film with rigid end boards protecting both roll ends from impact. Each roll is supplied with a product certificate and batch test report.
5.2 Storage — Store indoors in a cool, dry environment at 5–30 °C, away from open flames, heat sources and oil. Store rolls vertically; do not lay flat and stack under load, which can deform the roll and damage the surface anti-slip texture. Factory-sealed shelf life 12 months.
5.3 Transport — Protect against rain, moisture, compression and impact during transport. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and freezing damage to keep the finished product intact.
6. Safety and Environment
6.1 A Safety Data Sheet compliant with ISO 11014 / GHS is supplied, meeting export audit requirements for European and North American water park and public pool projects.
6.2 Safety characteristics — This solid elastic membrane is not a dangerous chemical and contains no volatile harmful substances. It is skin-friendly and non-toxic, suitable for long-term contact by children. During cutting, keep the site ventilated and wear standard protective equipment.
6.3 Environmental compliance — Free of heavy metals and SVHC substances throughout, compliant with EU REACH, RoHS 2.0 and European and North American material safety standards for public water-contact facilities. Environmentally sound, safe and non-toxic.
6.4 Waste disposal — Construction offcuts must be disposed of in accordance with local environmental regulations. Do not discard at will or pollute water bodies.
