Product Overview
OICE-302 is a self-adhesive waterproof membrane that combines a PET quantum cooling film with a butyl adhesive layer, delivering passive radiative cooling and watertight protection in a single laminated product. The PET top surface uses quantum spectral modification for high solar reflectance and high infrared emittance, while the butyl adhesive underside bonds and seals the substrate.
This technical data sheet is compiled in accordance with ASTM waterproofing standards, EU REACH, RoHS 2.0 and the ISO 11014 safety data sheet framework. It is intended for roofs of outdoor energy storage facilities, computing buildings, grain and oil storage, cold-chain warehouses and smart factories, where integrated cooling and waterproofing are both required.
1. Product Identification
| Product name | OICE-302 Quantum Cooling & Waterproof Membrane (solid) |
| Product type | Self-adhesive passive radiative cooling waterproof membrane, laminated from PET cooling film and butyl adhesive layer |
| Core principle | The PET top layer applies quantum spectral modification to achieve high solar reflectance and high infrared atmospheric-window emittance for passive radiative cooling. The butyl self-adhesive bottom layer provides bonding and watertight sealing. Cooling and waterproofing are combined in one laminated roll. |
| Recommended substrates | Steel structure roofs, concrete roofs, cement screed, renovation over existing membranes. The substrate must be sound, dry and free of loose scale, oil and other contaminants. |
| Typical applications | Energy storage station roofs, computing centre roofs, oil and gas tank cladding, cold-chain warehouse roofs, grain and oil warehouse roofs, smart factory roofs, charging station canopies, industrial metal roofs — any structure that needs both waterproofing and surface cooling |
2. Key Features
2.1 Quantum passive radiative cooling — The PET top layer is quantum spectrally modified to deliver high solar reflectance and high infrared emittance. Under sunlight it lowers both the membrane surface temperature and the substrate temperature, reducing the thermal load on the building envelope and cutting space and equipment cooling energy. Compared with the same substrate and colour, cooling performance improves by approximately 15% and energy consumption drops by approximately 30%.
2.2 Integrated butyl self-adhesive waterproofing — A high-performance butyl adhesive layer provides excellent watertightness and self-healing, resisting rainwater penetration. It accommodates minor substrate movement and is cold-applied with no additional adhesive.
2.3 Long-term weatherability and ageing resistance — The PET functional surface offers excellent UV resistance and thermal stability, and resists salt spray and thermal cycling. Suitable for coastal, industrial C3/C4/C5 corrosive environments.
2.4 Low VOC and environmental compliance — Compliant with EU REACH and RoHS 2.0. Contains no lead, cadmium, chromium or mercury, and no hazardous SVHC substances.
2.5 Good mechanical performance — The PET surface resists tension while the butyl layer provides good elongation, puncture resistance and tear resistance. It will not crack, delaminate or chalk under thermal cycling.
2.6 Stain, mould and algae resistance — The dense PET surface resists dirt accumulation and suppresses mould and algae growth in humid outdoor environments, maintaining solar reflectance and cooling performance over the long term.
2.7 Easy installation — Supplied as a finished self-adhesive laminated roll: peel the release film and lay directly. Reliable overlaps and high efficiency on large roofs, with no additional primer required. Sealant may be used to reinforce details.

4. Application Instructions
4.1 Substrate requirements — The substrate must be sound, flat and dry. Remove dust, oil and loose scale; grind sharp protrusions flat. Moisture content of concrete substrates ≤ 8 %. Metal substrates must be derusted and degreased. Repair cracks and holes beforehand.
4.2 Application conditions — Ambient temperature 5–40 °C; substrate temperature at least 3 °C above dew point; relative humidity ≤ 80 %. Do not apply in rain, condensation or strong wind with airborne dust. Below 10 °C, pre-warming the substrate is recommended to improve adhesion.
4.3 Laying procedure (self-adhesive standard version) — Peel the release film from the back of the membrane and align it in position on the substrate. Roll thoroughly with a pressure roller to expel air so the butyl layer bonds fully and tightly to the substrate. Overlap width ≥ 80 mm; overlaps are PET-to-PET, rolled tight, with dedicated sealant applied where required for extra sealing.
4.4 Overlaps and detail reinforcement — Add reinforcing membrane strips at internal and external corners, pipe penetrations, equipment plinths and expansion joints. All overlaps are critical to waterproofing and must be rolled solid; high-risk details require additional sealant edge sealing.
4.5 Curing — After laying, allow 7 days to reach full bond strength, waterproofing and cooling performance. Avoid foot traffic, standing water and impact during curing.
4.6 Recommended system — Concrete or corroded metal substrate: grind, repair and pre-treat → apply OICE-901 primer → OICE-302 quantum cooling self-adhesive membrane → reinforce details and overlaps with sealant → cure and hand over.
Sound metal substrate: wash clean → OICE-302 quantum cooling self-adhesive membrane → reinforce details and overlaps with sealant → cure and hand over.
5. Packaging and Storage
5.1 Packaging — Rolls are wrapped in moisture-proof PE film. Each roll carries an outer label stating specification and batch. The release film on the back protects the butyl adhesive from premature bonding.
5.2 Shelf life and storage — Store factory-sealed in a cool indoor environment at 5–30 °C, away from heat sources, open flames and direct sunlight. Stack rolls vertically; do not stack under heavy load, which can cause the butyl adhesive to bond prematurely. Shelf life 12 months. Avoid puncturing the PET surface with sharp objects during transport.
6. Safety and Environment
6.1 A separate Safety Data Sheet compliant with ISO 11014 / GHS is supplied, meeting European and North American export audit requirements. GHS classification: this solid finished membrane is not a dangerous chemical. Dust from cutting requires protection.
6.2 Protection and waste — Wear safety goggles, a dust mask and nitrile gloves when cutting. Keep the workshop ventilated. Cutting offcuts must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations and must not be discarded at will.
6.3 Compliance — REACH SVHC, RoHS 2.0 and low-VOC system compliant. Contains no heavy-metal pigments.
